Trip Overview

A Dhaulagiri Circuit trek is a challenging, remote 16-20 day Himalayan adventure featuring stunning glacier views, crossing high passes like French Pass (5360m) and Dhampus Pass, and passing through diverse landscapes from subtropical villages to high-altitude wilderness, typically starting and ending in Pokhara, with common stops at Italian Base Camp, Dhaulagiri Base Camp, Hidden Valley, and Marpha, before connecting back to the Annapurna region.

Highlights

Remoteness: One of Nepal’s most remote and wild circuits, offering pristine wilderness.
High Passes: Features challenging high-altitude passes (French Pass & Dhampus Pass) requiring good fitness and acclimatization.
Camping/Tented: Expect more tented camping, especially in the upper sections, than teahouse treks.
Permits: Required for Annapurna Conservation Area and restricted areas.
Best Season: Spring (March-May) and Autumn (Sept-Nov).
